CORPSE CAKE WORKSHOP
with Chef Aaron Davis
Monday, October 26 · 6–9 PM · $300 per person
Learn the art of realistic horror cake decorating from Chef Aaron Davis, a finalist on Holiday Baking Championship and Halloween Baking Championship and a semifinalist on Holiday Wars and Sweet Empire: Winter Wars.
A Culinary Institute of America graduate, C-CAP alumnus and mentor, Aaron has 10 years of experience in the industry. Now he's bringing that expertise to Abbie Cakes for one hands-on Halloween night.
With his step-by-step guidance, you'll turn a prepared 6-inch cake into a gruesomely realistic Corpse Cake, complete with stitched skin, bloody wounds, bruising, and edible maggots. Your cake arrives trimmed, filled, and pre-iced, so every minute goes to the details.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
• Fondant skin application, patching, and layering
• Stippling and realistic skin texture
• Stitches, wounds, and blood effects
• Veining, bruising, coloring, and shading
• Edible maggots
THE CAKE
Black cocoa chocolate cake layered with chocolate mousse and "bloody" raspberry preserves. It's as delicious as it is disturbing.
DINNER + Q&A
Midway through, take a 30-minute dinner break and ask Aaron anything about his techniques, his career, or life on competition baking shows. Choose a veggie or Italian cold-cut wrap, served with chips and a cookie. Our barista will have coffee or tea ready when you arrive.
